Welcome to The

Music and dance suite

The Music and Dance Suite has been a staple in Naperville’s arts education

community for the past 21 years

Lessons

We Offer

Private Music

Private lessons focus on the individual’ s strengths and weaknesses. Instruments are multi-sensory, complex activity requiring learning by ear, eye, touch, and intellectual understanding. Each student combines these elements differently. Private lessons go at the student’s learning pace, stopping whenever necessary to review concepts, repeat material, or explore a topic in which the student shows an interest.

Group  Lessons

Group lessons combine students in similar age groups, playing at the same level. We have semi-privates, small groups and ROCK BAND!

Early childhood music

Our premier Rhythm Express classes are a world of discovery and adventure. In every class, you’ll witness your child’s development evolution in a nurturing environment full of energy, imagination and MUSIC!

PRIVATE LESSONS

THE MUSIC AND DANCE SUITE OFFERS PRIVATE LESSONS IN: PIANO, GUITAR, BASS, UKULELE, VOICE, STRINGS (VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO), BRASS (TRUMPET, TROMBONE, BARITONE, FRENCH HORN), WOODWINDS (FLUTE, CLARINET, SAXOPHONE) AND DRUMS.

Individual attention: Private lessons focus on the individual’ s strengths and weaknesses. Instruments are multi-sensory, complex activity requiring learning by ear, eye, touch, and intellectual understanding. Each student combines these elements differently. Private lessons go at the student’s learning pace, stopping whenever necessary to review concepts, repeat material, or explore a topic the student shows an interest in.

Skills development: For more advanced students, private attention is needed to work on micro issues such as fingering, as well as finer points of expression and interpretation. Issues such as technique are also better dealt with privately.

SCHEDULING

With 30 instructors on staff, we do our best to schedule lessons at a convenient time for your family. Simultaneous lessons for multiple children in your family are possible.

Group lessons

Group lessons are a great way to learn!. Learning music through observation is proven to enhance learning. Students who are able to observe other students learning have an opportunity to process the information and they find they learn more easily.

Groups provide positive peer pressure. A group becomes a comfortable place to be and students like to keep up with their group. They tend to motivate each other.

Students in groups regularly play music in front of others which reduces the fear of playing in public. The vast majority of our students enjoy playing with and for other people. We also provide opportunities for our students to play with other musicians for musical development and pleasure. Our groups are enjoyable. We have a great time with our students and everyone looks forward to their lessons.

GROUP LESSONS ARE OFFERED AS:

  • Semi-Private lessons: two students (either siblings or friends) similar in age and ability, playing the same type of instrument.
  • Small group lessons: everyone is playing near the same level and are close in age.                      Do you want it on a new line like it is?
Group Lessons are available on piano, guitar, drums and ukulele.
  • Rock Band: is an option in addition to other private or group lessons. We meet as a group an hour a week and have a great time learning ensemble skills. We have two concerts a year in a local establishment.

Our music and dance classes are second to none in Naperville, Illinois

What parents are saying about our music and dance education

“I just wanted to say how much my daughter Claire enjoyed her first lesson! She was so impressed by her teacher -she has said over and over how she “can’t wait till her lesson!”. Please let her teacher know how much we appreciate her making that first lesson such a positive experience. I’m so thankful!”

Sincerely, Melissa D.

“Just have to say that my 6-year-old daughter loved her first guitar class. Dan was the teacher and he was super funny and amazing! Glad I found this place!!”

R. M. mother of Ana age 6.

“My daughter played the piano in a Christmas Program last evening and everyone was amazed how well she did after a short period of time. Thanks to The Music Suite.”

D.M. mother of Emily, age 8

“It is refreshing to work with a studio that encourages age-appropriate music, costumes, and dances. They not only teach the technical and artistic skills of dance, they truly are mentors. Not only has TMADS taught my girls to be great dancers, the staff and teachers have encouraged them to be great young ladies!”

Stacy L.

“The girls love their classes and instructors, as always. I had just been thinking about how YOU have been responsive as well as flexible over the years, what a pleasure it has been for our family and that with the level of service you provide your success is no surprise! Thank you!”

When our studio was closed in the spring and summer of 2020 due to COVID -19, our 30 teachers and 500+ students transitioned to online teaching without missing a beat!   In the first four months of the quarantine, we taught over 9,000 lessons online! That definitely puts us in the “EXPERT” category.  Whether you are still in quarantine or just don’t want to drag the kids to one more place, we can provide online lessons. It is like having a teacher come straight to your house!   We’ve even had families move out of state and love their teacher so much that they can bring them along!   Here are two examples of how online lessons work for violin and piano.  Online lessons can be taught on any instrument and voice!
